TMJ Expert Dr. Sid Solomon DDS

If you think that all of your dental problems will be resolved the moment your ceramic fillings have been placed, you’re not quite getting it right. Yes, a problem has been solved, but that does not exempt you from the chances of acquiring the same problems in the future – especially if you are not properly taking care of your teeth with fillings.Your fillings need care, too. If you don’t want another trip to the doctor for a different dental procedure, it is best that you follow the right preventive and oral care measures.Taking Care of Ceramic Fillings

Although dental fillings are bonded to your teeth to transform affected teeth into a hard and strong substance, it still needs proper care for it to last a very long time. Here are general measures to keep in mind:

  • You may already be allowed to eat and drink the way you always do right after your dental appointment. The material used during the procedure is already light-cured so there is no way it will fall off following placement.
  • Just like your ordinary tooth, brush and floss your tooth or teeth with fillings regularly. It is recommended to floss after every meal and brush twice a day.
  • During the first few weeks, it is normal to notice sensitivity to cold temperature and to biting pressure.
  • Follow-up checkups, and regular checkups thereafter, are recommended for your dentist to constantly determine the status of your dental fillings.
  • It is important to notify your dentist immediately if you experience any spontaneous pain that remains for 30 minutes or longer.
  • Give your dentist a call if you feel like the filling is too high that it gets hit when you bite down.

It is our commitment here at Dr. Solomon’s Los Angeles cosmetic dentistry practice to regularly check on our patients to evaluate their condition and ensure good dental health. If you need any help regarding your ceramic fillings, do not hesitate to give us a call at 310-475-5598 and we will gladly address your concerns.

This is a great dental office. They greet you when you enter, and give you a status report on how soon you will be seen. They do thorough and professional work on you, so you are always satisfied with the results. And when you are finished, they are generous with their time planning your next visit, and answering any questions you might have. They also give fantastic advice on what you should be doing at home to maintain great dental health.

The costs are incredibly high, even with insurance. I would not go back and not refer anyone. I am going to try to be placed with a different primary care dentist.

He is very patient and kind when dealing with TMD. I also like his techniques he uses to get to the root of the issue and not just patch it up like many dentists I have dealt with before.
